Let’s talk about cocktails.

We love craft beer and have fallen in love with the reds and whites on our extensive wine list, but there is just something about a vibrant cocktail on a warm summer evening that we just can’t get enough of. A cocktail during happy hour or before dinner is the perfect way to leave the cares of the workday behind and transition into fun and relaxation!

Our Peartini is definitely a crowd favorite, where the vibrant taste of Grey Goose La Poire is deliciously balanced with subtly sweet, crisp flavors. The Elite Margarita, made with Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Milagro Tequila, and fresh Agave nectar, is a classic, too. Feeling a little adventurous? Sip our Fleur De Lis, a beautiful balance of Chopin Vodka and St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, which brings out the fresh flavors of tropical fruit; perfect for the summer evenings that aren’t quite over yet.

We had a wonderful time learning now to make sushi from Chef Kinoshita this week, in a special cooking class exclusively for members of our Woodfire Club! Guests were treated to a demonstration on how to create three sushi rolls: the classic cucumber roll, a spicy tuna roll, and a California roll, each paired with three different wines. Lots of fun, laughter, and eating was done by all!

Members of the Woodfire Club frequent diners program learned the basics while sipping wine and making new friends. “I had the pleasure of dining at the Glenarden, Maryland location of the restaurant on July 11, 2015 when my sisters and I hosted a luncheon for my mother and her friends in honor of her eightieth birthday. I worked extensively with Sheila, the events coordinator, who was readily available and attentive to every detail. We had a prix-fixe menu that included the Spinach and Artichoke Dip starter, Rotisserie Chicken, Meatloaf Stack, Fish Sandwich and Stanford Cheeseburger entrée choices and dessert. The food, in quite generous portions, was made from quality ingredients, prepared to a queen’s taste and enjoyed by all. The service was great. In every respect, it was a wonderful dining experience, so much so that my family and I dined there again on Monday, July 13th!”

“My first night, I dined with a colleague and we sat at a lovely outdoor table in their patio, along the boardwalk and river. There were so many chicken entree options but I opted for a simple rotisserie chicken salad. It was absolutely delicious, with incredibly moist chunks of chicken (not like the usual dry overcooked type you get at other places), black beans, corn, jicama and mixed in a tasty chipotle bleu cheese dressing. My second visit, I dined at the bar which was quite elegant, and ordered their steak salad, which had the most flavorful croutons, perfect medium rare steak, citrus dressing and delightfully sweet corn bread on the side. Dining at the bar was also fun since the bartenders were friendly and personable. And for those of you who like martinis slightly dirty, Phillipe makes a killer one.”

There is something for every sushi lover on this new menu – from spicy to sweet, saucy to minimalist, and even one Battera-style roll (one guest described this as “sushi lasagna”, which made us laugh).
